I'm curious on why you are so hesitant to pay rent? As far as if it is fair or not, that depends on a few things. Are both of your incomes comparable? Would all the bills be comparable to the total rent (which I could guess is around $1,000)?
To me it sounds like she is trying to make sure things are equal in what you are both contributing, which doesn't have to mean it's a roommate but can also mean she sees you as an equal partner.
To me, it doesn't sound like she rejected you. It sounds more like you caughter her off guard and she panicked. Not in a bad way, more like she didn't expect you to ask her out and she actually is busy. I say give her some time and space, let her come to you if she wants. You should have broken up with him six months ago. The foundation of your relationship is built on an enormousm fundamental lie. The person you fell in love with at month three does not exist. The person you fell in love with was an honest, childless man who is not a bad father to a bad child. The person he actually is is a liar who is a bad father to a bad child. It would still be a ridiculously huge lie if the child were well-behaved, but the fact that he's a demon spawn makes it impossibly insurmountable given he doesn't even support you.
Further, if this is how the child behaves at his size now, purposefully injuring you to the point of leaving marks, imagine what he'll do to you when he's bigger and stronger. There'll come a point he'll be able to simply overpower you. He may well literally kill you.
