The largest mistake here is you entered into a relationship thinking someone would change to what you wanted. This behavior won't change and is probably a sign of previously untreated abuse or trauma. If you aren't OK with it, then it's time to move on.
It’s interesting how you’re saying to accept what he feels yet you are saying that being traumatized by ghosting after losing your virginity to someone is over selling it.
