I know the answers to these. No red flags, I’ve never been scared to confront him if something is wrong (we spoke about it for example and his reaction wasn’t negative) and I think we are compatible: same hobbies, similar tastes in pretty much everything, same values etc
No you’re not wrong. Look I suppose there are people out there who might not care, but most people would. And even if most people wouldn’t, YOU do and that should be all that matters.
I would just set a boundary and end the discussion. “On any given night, I won’t be having sex with you unless you have showered.” (Note: that is different than “I will have sex with you if you shower”—you’re right, you don’t owe him a guarantee). Then if he tries to initiate sex, just say, “no you haven’t showered” And honestly I wouldn’t engage in any further discussion outside of those two phrases. He can choose to shower or not. You can choose to bang him or not. If he tries to whine about it or whatever, just shrug and walk away.
I will take your advice. But you’re really saying that after 5 years he’s still holding on to this? I 100% have to get ahead of this before he gets petty with me.
