This comment is what I was looking for. I feel like many people on this thread have said things that will make him feel like he has to stay. He is young, and so is she. I can clearly tell her loves her, but he deserves to on-line his life and be able to enjoy it as well. I commend him for trying to find solutions, but if he doesn’t he should be able to enjoy and on-line his life. For me, sexual intimacy is very important. Yes, there are other ways to be intimate, but sex is a different level of intimacy. Not to mention there doesn’t seem to be much quality time, either. The reason is completely understandable, but I can’t say I would stay in the relationship. And because I see people saying “a man leaving is textbook,” this is coming from a woman.

You need to call local authorities regarding the situation, because it is very likely he is abusing her as well. An abusive person is not an appropriate caregiver.
As for the guy, you can just drop it into conversation that you have some family issues, and let him decide if or how much he wants to hear more.
He sounds like he’s looking for a business partner rather than a life partner. Would he expect you to kick him out if he lost his job, or do his demands only work one way? He has an unhealthy relationship with money and it won’t make for a happy family life long term.
You shouldn’t have to ask him. If someone is into you, you’ll know.
