Tossing TP into a trashcan is a sensible solution if your pipes can not handle it. Just like washing your clothes by hand is sensible when you don't have electricity and a washing machine. But his pipes CAN take TP. So it is more like having a new home with a washing machine and insisting on washing all clothes by hand. This makes no sense. The washing machine is faster, better, and wastes less water. Just like a toilet gets rid of paper immediately, and you don't need to take it out every day. There is no good reason for using the outdated method when a new, cleaner, and more efficient alternative is available.
