I think you need to walk back the engagement or at least have a very long one. As somebody who has fought anger issues my whole life try writing him letters. Its easier to process usually. Read your title again! You're admitting she's hurting you. And unfortunately people chose sides during break ups. If it gets so bad that your reputation is being influenced then you should do what I did when my ex and I broke up and that's get a restraining order taken out against her, or you should sue her. But go for restraining order first
She’s acting like she’s 15. That’s pretty embarrassing. I can understand her wanting you to get a better job and live up to your potential but hating on you because of your ex’s appearance is just childish. She sounds pretty awful and you think you’re beneath her. I say just move on, I don’t think you can improve that dynamic.
