I just want to let you know OP that after reading this post you just seem like a really genuine person. From beginning to end you stayed true to yourself. You were open. Honest. And you communicated how you felt so well. As very hot as it is when love/feelings are reciprocated we need to respect those boundaries and do our best to move on and find people who DO reciprocate those feelings. I get that you give things from the heart, but it’s upsetting that I give so much and receive comparatively little. That doesn’t make me regret giving what I gave: I stand by what I did. But it does make me question whether she deserves the same level of effort in future
