Your update makes me happy. This is textbook psychological abuse. My mom's boyfriend from years ago gave me advice that rings true 20 years later. You don't know someone until you've known them for six months. Every relationship I've had in my life has reflected that advice as six months has always been the switch flip for those it fit.

So I asked to see the messages and he said he deleted them.

He proceeded to say he was confused and she finally said that she wanted him. He asked since when and she said since always. He told her we will talk delete these messages.
He asked her again to delete the messages and mentioned they will talk.
Why on earth did you marry him? Don't you think that it was super shady of him to ask her to delete the messages? It's not just a her problem, it's a him problem as well.
