I kept my last name as well. My personal experience…. I considered changing it but in the end, and after a lot of thought and self-reflecting, I love my name. One thing we did consider was what last name to give our children. I wanted our children it have my last name part of theirs as they are a part of me and my heritage. So we compromised to give them my last name as part of their middle name and their last name is my husbands. That way… my last name is still a part of them. We did consider hyphenating but both our names are pretty long so we didn’t want to burden the kids that. LoL
