I would be pissed that he swore on your relationship that he doesn't know where they where. This is not just about lying. And the story is meh. If it was a customer return. the box wasn't sealed. How did he not first thought “oh my gf had already took the headphones out of the box?” and to give you a present and then first use it for himself? He could have also said “Oh yes, i took them” and then “Shit, i lost them”, but no, he went with the robber story and swore to you.
