Be careful with this advice. His current girlfriend is in the video and would be the victim of the crime, not him. If an antidepressant is doing that, that's definitely not right. She needs to report that to her clinician the next time she sees them. I'm guessing the anticonvulsant is a mood stabilizer. Those take a few days to really be at level and even longer to notice anything imo so it just seems like a bad choice of antidepressant. They're not supposed to do that.

It’s not ”emotionally cheating”, it’s just emotionally cheating. If you pay more attention to this woman than your wife (which could be the case it seems), what is she supposed to think. Better yet, put yourself in your wife’s shoes: what if she paraded around and lied about another man? Probably would not feel good.
You ruined your own chances of having a friendship with this woman by being weird about it and making your wife worry. You want to keep your friend at the expense of your spouse? Go ahead but also don’t start whining when you will be smacked with the consequences of your actions.

People do not get so overcome by emotion that they lose control and run/jump/hug people. They do it intentionally. It's a choice. Would you do it to your elderly, infirm grandma?
