Your parents behavior is really rude. You don't invite people to your home and then make them walk back and forth between rooms to visit each parent individually. What happens when you have kids. 2 people in an apartment means more wear and tear on the property, more utilities used, less living space (closet space, drawer space, bathroom space… bathroom time) double the food consumption, double the noise which can annoy the neighbors and a whole hell of a lot less privacy than you were used to.
