You’ve also had a major life event – loss of a parent and loss of the purpose that came from being a carer. That’s a big deal! I wouldn’t make major life decisions in this state of mind. Feeling lost and dissatisfied is common in that state, and the closest people to us are likely to seem like the most plausible sources of the problem. Maybe he is! But maybe you’ll feel quite different about him in 6 months if you have other purposefulness in your life again.
Are there other ways you could pursue purpose (career, volunteering, hobbies, etc) and not put that pressure on the marriage for a bit?
