Hey reddit, im writing this on mobile so it might be a little janky but here we go. So my cousin (C)32 is marrying a nazi (N)34ish? Ive known my cousin my whole life, shes been with N for 5-6 years.
I was at there house a few weeks ago visiting my cousin and her family, she just had a baby(B) and gained a step kid that N had 6 or 7 years before they met. While i was there somehow the topic of lying was brought up, i donât remember why but either way. N was holding B and was in the room while my cousin and I were speaking and looked right at the baby and in a cooing voice said something along the lines of âlying is bad, only the jews lie, or something along those lines, also his other kid was in the room. Nobody batted an eye and i was just like wtf maybe he has just been watching south park or something but i tried not to think to much into it. BUT THEN, i went to pick baby up off his play mat an what was laying on the floor? An actual book called âThe Jews and their liesâ written by Martin Luther in fricken 1543. And so i was obviously like wtf but i didnât bring it up and neither C or N had every said anything along those lines so i tried to let it go, but couldnât. I called my mom and talked to her and she said if theyâre actual nazis i shouldnât bring it up because well their nazis and it wouldnât go over well and C would probably cut me off for talking crap about her nazi fiancĂ©. So i did, i stopped visiting as much but i still wanted to be there for B and the other kid because Iâve grown to love and care about them(also they 1000% have autism and nobody acknowledges or believes that and get mad at him for his mannerisms which are all textbook autism, but thats a whole other issue) and i was worried about the actual nazi raising them, but in all subsequent visits nothing else was said so i, honestly i didnât know what to think, until tonight.
So it was Cs birthday party and my boyfriend and I went over there. They told us about halfway through the night that Cs friend since middle school is no longer talking to them ( i have known this person since i was 9). They had just gone on a weekend gambling trip for Cs friends birthday the prior weekend and Cs friend is married to a blonde hair blue eyed person and Cs friend is Mexican. I guess N made a comment about the blonde hair blue eyed spouse being with Cs friend and the fact that the white race was being eradicated (they conveniently left out exactly what was said) but i got the gist. I was in disbelief.
Once the party died down and we all had a chance to talk they pretty much separated my boyfriend and I and it started. They said the same bs to both of us, we compared notes on the way home, but it was along the lines of whites are being eradicated because were breeding with other races and diluting the bloodlines, like some real heil hitler crap. They asked if we thought everyone was the same besides skin color, and went into slavery and that transitioned into Jews making up the highest percentage of slave owners. I donât take crap, im not religious and i believe in what can be proven, so science and evolution. I could hear N talking through the walls to my boyfriend and other cousins husband and he is a loud guy they couldnât get a word in. I was talking to C on the other hand so i was able to get in my opinion. I told her that the only differences we have are physical traits our bodies evolved to have dependent on your proximity to the equator, and the cultures that have evolved over time from those sub groups of humans but the earliest discovered signs of humans or neanderthals was on the coast of Africa, and i legit told her if we flayed N and any other ethnicity of person with a similar build she could not tell me the difference, a forensic pathologist could possibly tell, but only because of the previous mentioned evolved traits what were due to location. Soon after i excused myself and rescued my boyfriend from his indoctrination class and we went home.
I am now sitting at home typing this, my boyfriend now refuses to go there anymore and im thinking similar thoughts but heres the thing. Ive literally known C my whole life, shes changed her personality and beliefs depending on who shes dating her entire life. This isnât her, its N indoctrinating her into his nazi cult. A few years ago she was a proud liberal, while dating her liberal boyfriend. And now she found herself a nazi and had already had a baby and i cant explain how much i donât want this sweet baby growing up with antisemitic poison in his mind. I have high hopes for the other kid because they move to the beat of their own drum and donât seem to take anything like this to heart.
The wedding is this summer, i know C is not a nazi, but the longer she is in this situation the better the chance of her actually believing or abiding by this belief and itll be easy to brainwash the baby. What the heck do i do??? Im so sorry for anyone upset i didnât cut them off already but i just found out how deep it goes, i never truly believed there are honest to goodness nazis still wandering around. Like what in the actual F.
She has already shown you that she's not willing to put in the work, nor is she mature enough to be in a relationship. She should have ended things if she wasn't happy instead of doing the extremely shtty thing of cheating.
Please let's not judge so harshly. It sounds like her mother was in tremendous emotional pain, maybe even having a nervous breakdown. A sane person wouldn't put that on their child, I agree. But her mother was probably hurting in a way you and I hopefully never have to be.
OP, you AND your mother have my compassion. Please consider therapy to deal with the trauma.
