Yea, the insecurity isn't like a normal jealous insecurity. For a pregnant person it's a threat to their survival. They are being abandoned at a time when they are most vulnerable. Primitive instincts come into play. Not to mention her whole body changing and her thinking of herself as gross compared to any non pregnant person.
