Hey spontaneity is great but this is surgery. It's a medical procedure, and things can go wrong. My friend's dad was a plastic/reconstructive surgeon and he was shocked about how cavalier people were about going under, side effects, etc. And theoretically we are impulsive or spontaneous about things that aren't permanent, like coloring our hair or a vacation. Not general anesthesia! Be supportive of her impulse to buy trash magazines at the checkout counter, but I don't think it's inherently controlling to express concern about her health. Because this isn't just her looks it's her well-being.
