Yep, I went through a trauma group at PHP. All of my trauma has been sexual. Another woman in the group revealed one day that the main trauma she was contending with was that her father was murdered in front of her when she was a child. I had expressed that I could not begin to imagine going through that, and I felt like my presence in the group was almost insulting if that's what other people were coping with. She started crying and hugged me and said she felt the same way about herself when I disclosed mine (which is pretty graphic and not worth potentially upsetting myself or others by repeating it here).
We downplay our own trauma because it's the only reality we know, and we know we can online with it because we do every day. It's a lot easier to understand the gravity of something that's happened to someone else, especially someone you feel protective of.
