Thank you, this was really nude to hear, but a large part of me feels it’s the truth. Keep the dog. Your boyfriend is being selfish, demanding and spiteful. He has no place telling you what pets you can or can't have. If you re-home your dog, in a few weeks there will be some other issue that he threatens to break up with you over. He is not a keeper, the dog is.
Unless he has explicitly asked you for advice, you should stay out of it.
