1. She is upset that her son is getting married instead of staying with her. That is the first red flag of every emotional incest JNMIL. Your fiancé is not her property for you to steal. He is not obligated to give her the same importance as the person he chose to be his equal partner. His mother cannot provide the kind of love and intimacy of a partner, BECAUSE THAT IS INCEST. It isn't you. Any person with her son would be seen as her rival. Still super creepy. Your fiancé may need therapy to deal with unhealthy things about his relationship with his mother. At minimum she is being emotionally abusive towards him with the calls and such. He is allowed to chose his happiness over his mother. This isn't about him choosing you over his mother, it's about him choosing himself. Tell him that you need to set boundaries for yourself, and you want to support him setting boundaries he is comfortable with. You are not telling him he needs to cut contact, you just want to know what will make him happiest. There is no reason he should have to give up his happiness to earn his mother's favor.

2. I was a single mom and one of my minimum requirements of my partner was they had to be able to support themselves. My thought process was that I could take care of myself and my child, though it wasn't easy. I needed someone who could and would take up the slack if I was injured or sick. I needed a partner not a dependent. Your circumstances are different so take that for what it is worth. If you did have a child and eventually got divorced, how would he do with coparenting? Would he pay child support, or would you owe him?
