2. That’s really good advice thank you. I could say that to him, I worry he might say he already agreed to do it a certain way by reducing it a certain amount each month however.

   I did have a conversation with him recently where he said he wouldn’t pay my share of the rent… this comes from a conversation we had about the fact I might loose my job, because my contract hasn’t been renewed yet so I’m not sure if I will be out of work yet. He said if it does happen then we will move to a cheaper place. But then still continues to pay the ex.

3. Do not stay in this relationship, because bottom line best case you kids grow up being exposed to his alcoholism and how shitty it/he is, worst case he hurts you/them, or they grow up and think this behaviour is ok/replicate it.

   if you can't cancel it and get money back, just have a family reunion party.
