2. I’m glad you’re listening and I hope the two of you are able to get to a place where you can communicate.

   Don’t go to therapy just for her or just for your marriage. Go for yourself, to improve your own mental health. If you only go to appease her you won’t see lasting improvements (plus, she’ll sense that you’re not taking it seriously).

   I also saw where you guys spend every weekend with your family and I’d cut that down a lot. I have a very miserable, toxic family and I used to be just as bad as they were. It almost ruined my marriage. But then I distanced myself from them and went to therapy and I’m happier than I’ve ever been.

   Now that I know that there are better ways to live!, I look back sometimes and wonder why tf I ever wanted their approval in the first place.

   What is your solution? Because it kind of sounds like you believe she should be forced to abandon those preferences.
