OK, you don't think there is something way overblown in how he reacted?
trying to make some sort of common ground
So, I understand this, but do people always lie to do this? He could have said the truth, or any neutral polite thing about the city or the neighborhood. Or he could have asked anything about me, I doubt he actually knew my name even.
I was alarmed because he probably lied and I was not sure if he was trying to manipulate me. I get alarmed like this because my past experiences are experiences are extreme, so I kinda want to know who that person is not who they want me to think they are.
If you don't trust him, and there's no way you would trust him, you should break up. It doesn't really matter whether he's actually cheating (he probably is); you can't have a healthy relationship with someone you don't trust.
If you care that much about someone’s appearance, you don’t really love them.
Thank you
