You are wrong, very wrong. Many women's pain is pushed as a mental problem, and not taken seriously enough. Telling her to see a therapist is like telling her you dont believe the pain is real and that its all in her head is the message your giving off.
She may benefit from therapy for her trauma but not for pain during or after intercourse. She needs a doctor for that, not a therapist. There could be many things going on, and they can start after she has seen a GYNO.
You should do some much needed research on the womens body, and how many conditions there is out there that can cause painful sex. There's a lot, and your lack of knowledge about it, is troublesome. She doesn't need a therapist, she needs someone to believe her and take her pain seriously. She needs to go to the doctor, a GYNO wont see anything unless specifically looking for it or certain test need to be performed to find out.
