1. Your wife (and you) sound exhausting.

   Who invites guests for dinner then a few days prior, starts telling people what they need to bring? And last minute telling them their dog can’t come?

   It seems like your wife is trying to shove all this down your brother and SILs throats. They don’t want to be friends with her. They don’t want their limited free time taken up with her and her events.

   Your wife needs to back off. I appreciate that you’re backing her up and such but she really needs to stop.

3. You tricked him and basically led him into asking you out. You created a fake person to do it. No matter how much you liked him, that was manipulation.

   You destroyed the trust you built with him for the last 10 years. He thought Olivia was real. What you did wasn't okay. I'm not sure if you can come back from this.

   It isn't fair to lie to someone or withhold information until someone's emotionally invested. That, too, is manipulation.

   If you care about him, give him time and space. Try to move on.
