I think the thing that bothers me the most about a lot of these posts where monogamous people are pressured by one partner or the other to try polyamory is that they essentially haven't done any research about it outside of one of the partners just wanting to hook up with somebody or thinking that they're missing something by not hooking up with more people. Polyamory/ethical non-monogamy is not something to enter into lightly or without research. And it's definitely not just about sex.
Also I really don't like the fact that this guy has “convinced” other people before. If you have to be convinced to do something that you don't want to do in a relationship by what sounds like a closer in a business deal, then you probably shouldn't be anywhere near doing it. Dudes like that guy give non monogamy a bad name.
My wife do things for me and thinks she has shown me great love. I appreciate it of course but I do stuff for her as well and I feel like that cannot be how we should express love. I need hugs, I need that to feel loved. She does too though. If I spoon her she will fall asleep because she feel safe. Do I get spooned? Never happened, I am a big guy and she is small ? but you get the point, I need to feel what she is feeling. I want to fall asleep in someones embrace. Not only fall asleep of exhaustion because we built that shed she wanted.

Some people on the planet live in far worse conditions than even the poorest Americans. Why do you think people are literally sending their children alone across thousands of miles to try and get in the country. We truly do have it better than a lot of people.

I think in this particular case, our situations may not be comparable because there was a rule in our relationship that neither of us would be looking at explicit content of any kind regardless of “type” of woman. So to answer your question, yes I would still be mad if he was looking at women who looked like me. I was just even More mad because it was a type of woman who didn't look like me at all, which made me feel like he needed something other than me. Also, in your case, it seems like you don't just have one “type” like my boyfriend did, since he was only following one type of page (not the more diverse array of Asian/Latina/white that you are interested in).
But just to update you, I talked to him more based on commenter's advice last night and we've pretty much resolved things, since like you said, yes he 1) unfollowed the page and 2) is taking my feelings seriously. Thank you for your insight!
