This is exactly what I've been debating in my head. How could it have lasted for so long if it's just a friendship. Surely it should have broken down sooner. But now I'm thinking maybe we were both so afraid of leaving the comfort of what have that we kept ignoring any signs telling us we should.
You not recognizing details like the actual dollar and physical ways you are lacking in this relationship is maybe why you can’t score a tech job that pays in the realm of what your career should be.
Also you have a lot of audacity to try to say that she won’t make a lot of money in her chosen field when she is already out earning you and you have a degree. You’re really determined to not find fault with yourself when it’s clearly you not contributing to your relationship and household properly.
Again, she makes more money than you now without a degree. She works less hours than you (only 6 less btw) and somehow has less time for hobbies than you because you not her down with all the chores that require the most energy and time. You keep saying money shouldn’t make a difference here while also being super condescending about her schooling and career. Tech writers make a lot of money. Sounds like she is smart and efficient.
