It happens randomly. Once was at a wedding, this nice hippy couple, a few times on cruises. I started dating my wife when she was 17, I was 19. That was 40 years and 4 months ago. Everyone in our social circles, including a good chunk of family, have all married young and are still together 30 to 40 plus years later. At our 40th HS reunion, there were 4 couples still together that were dating in school, and that's out of only about 45 people that showed up.
Is there anything wrong with trying out the world and seeing where you fit in? Nope. But don't push it as the way it should or needs to be. When you find the right person, keep them. Don't make life harder than it needs to.
