So, he actually ended up calling me last night (still very angry) and said that he would have lost $300 for missing work so $150 was 'generous.' I'm tight on cash right now (which my bf knows). I may have a good salary but it's pretty useless with the combo of my medical debt (surgery and PT while switching insurances really f'd me) and my transmission went out and I now owe $7k for that alone. Not an impossible situation but the whole reason I do the traveling is bc it makes me extra money.
Regardless I would have paid him if I hadn't found another solution. But the other solution seemed to piss him off even more than asking him for help first.
Also I'm not sure if it would have made a difference to him if my boss was female. It definitely could have, but I'm also bi and my bf might consider all genders a “threat.”
I don’t think that your wife cuddling people while on shrooms is itself a sackable offence – ‘loving everyone’ is a side effect of being high – because she shut down his advance. The cuddle should be written off as ‘shrooms, man’. I’ve hugged friends and done the whole ‘I love you, man! I freakin love you, your my best friend in the world, man’ in a purely platonic way and I think you should extend this drugged up privilege to your wife.
Your former friend, however, should be kept far away and your wife should agree to this. I’d make it clear, in private, that you’re aware than he tried to have sex with her while she was chemically compromised which is predatory behaviour and for this reason your friendship is over.
