2. Chlamadia can absolutely lie dormant for years and is asymptomatic in up to half of all men. In fact it’s called the “silent STD” for that exact reason. People can have it for years and never show symptoms.

   It is possible the bf had it the entire time. However if she has reason to believe he’s been cheating then that’s definitely the most likely scenario of transmission.
