That is pretty good gift giving. My mum's an absolute pro at picking up these things. She will remember you just casually mentioning a thing you like and then get it for you even though you talked about it months ago. I just love it when she does that.
My partner is also pretty good at keeping track of stuff I like such as my favourite type of tea and candy so he can buy me little treats he knows I would love.
Buying things that you know your partner will love is being a thoughtful and caring partner. So keep being awesome at giving gifts.
What are you expecting of him? From my point of view you expressed your issues and this was his answer to it but you aren't happy with that answer which means you didn't want that of him? Or maybe you expressed that you wanted it and never expected you wouldnt like it?
You don’t “get to” assume the worst and be overbearing with your partner just because you’ve been through some shit. I’m sorry you’ve had these struggles; I have mental health disorders myself, I can empathize with your situation.
HOWEVER, you don’t get to dictate your partners mental health treatment choices. Especially if your reasons are based on jealousy. That is completely unhealthy and inappropriate.
I don’t know if you are capable of maintaining healthy boundaries in a relationship right now, if your boyfriend attending therapy with just.. another woman around your age as a therapist is enough to cause the urge to self harm.
Advice: do not ask your boyfriend to undo months of building a therapeutic relationship because of your own mental health struggles. Recognize that it’s okay for him to get counsel from someone who is not you.
Stop centering yourself in your boyfriend’s healthcare.
OP is totally unwilling to accept that someone can accept her as she is. By her posts it looks like he loves her fully (looks and personality) and tries to make her feel more confident through his love but OP refuses to believe that.
He's just immature. Maybe he'll understand in the future or maybe not.. or he actually is insecured and thinks you might be cheating.. even though he never suggested it or suspects it but it's just a thought.
