I remember reading in a textbook in grade school that GPS technology is accurate within 30 meters. That was 13 years ago.
Nowadays, your phone can combine GPS data with GNSS measurements, cell tower triangulation, wifi networks, and the phone's accelerometer/gyroscope to deliver a location that is accurate within less than 1 meter.
