Sounds like you need the space away from him. He keeps on changing your plans in favor of his. You guys should've talked with each other. He should've done better with setting up that conversation and planned out the events i.e. set amounts of time for when you want to be at each event.
Well, the reason to doubt is the fact that the kid looks nothing like you’d expect. Yes, genetics are weird, but that’s a pretty unlikely phenotype to have naturally, especially if the other kids are TOTALLY different. You know, having a blue eyed kid is one thing. Having a blue eyed, fair skin, fair hair AND short is a whole lot of independent and hidden genes showing themselves all at the same time, when you would usually only expect one or two to end up showing up in weird ways like that.
I went to Starbucks and ordered a macchiato once. When I went to get it, the drink was all one color (usually the milk is on top of the espresso). Sure, it was entirely possible the barista accidentally just mixed the drink, but you know what I did? I asked to make sure and they ended up remaking it rather than getting mad to make sure I knew I had the right drink. It’s a similar principle here, it doesn’t look right so it’s fair to question if it IS right. Even if there is a possible reason it is right and just looks weird.

Neither of you sound like you have the emotional maturity to make a long-term commitment. Also, a year is not long in terms of a lifetime. It takes a year to figure out whether you're compatible, share values, and have common life goals – personal, professional, relationship.
It's best to leave it alone, rather than trying to convince her to get back together. Time and emotional maturity will resolve the question about whether you belong together or not in the long-term. In the short-term, have enough respect for her to know what she wants and doesn't want in a partner.

I would have to agree with that. In the past I would do the same thing. I did it because I felt like I wanted them to want it on their own. But it's confusing because they don't know I want it. Yeah just have a chat about it.
