I think he thinks that i rejected hin for religious purposes. We r from a religious families where if people find out that two people are dating or something then the girl is judged, blamed and ostracised. Today first he was playing sad songs then converted to songs that included lyrics something along the lines of “ i will ask for ur hands”. So i was thinking maybe he meant if i ask for ur hands and u wanna accept, u wont be ostracised. I have been ignoring him. Should i text sonething along the lines of “I genuinely dont wanna be anything more than cousins. Its not because of religious reasons”, should i text something else or keep ignoring him?

You can't make him stop drinking any more than you can go to therapy for him, work through his crap for him, or force him to prioritize his family or your marriage.
He can't have a healthy relationship with you right now because he can't even swing a healthy relationship with himself. The only thing you can do is protect your children from growing up with an alcoholic parent in the house. Being completely real with you, you're only here because you already know what you need to do. He can't keep being totally wrecked around the kids. It's both physically unsafe, and emotionally traumatic for them. Either he's gotta go, or you and the kids do.
I understand you're married and took vows and have children and are invested. But right now he CLEARLY has some more pressing personal development issues he needs to attend to. He can't be a partner. He can't be a parent. So there's no reason to keep trying to pretend. You'll only lose whatever remaining trust and respect you have for him and make yourself resent him, and enable him to continue drinking. If you've expressed your feelings about it and it's still happening? ABSOLUTELY a hill I'd be willing to die on. Your kids physical and emotional safety needs to be your priority.

Basically, I wished him a goodnight but hours later, I woke up and couldn't sleep so I started scrolling through Instagram. He noticed that I was active and essentially accused me of lying about going to sleep over text.
I informed him that I woke up and couldn't sleep but I didn't feel the need to explain myself and that the comment was mean. Also, I said that if he wanted to continue being mean, that we should talk the next day upon my return. He was not happy with my response and he is still hurt and thus, why he hasn't spoken with me.

Are you sure you got this right? Is this in the US? Because despite the people in the comments saying the system is set up against men, it's actually pretty rare to even get a rape case to go all the way to court.
It's pretty rare to even report rapes in this country. Half the time if reported to the police an arrest doesn't happen. Even if an arrest does occur, that doesn't mean it is going to get prosecuted unless there is something there. Being acquitted meant a jury decided the evidence wasn't enough.. but he went all the way to trial TWICE?!?
And didn't tell you for TWO YEARS?

You and your family are a package deal. My ex used to stop me from seeing my family. I missed quite a bit of my infant nephews life before leaving my ex. It hurts to be sure, but it’s better this way than being forcibly separated from your family by a partner.
