Questions: Is the shower a combination shower/bathtub? If so, does your wife take baths in it? ….and who does the cleaning?
Why those questions? If I found out I had taken a bath in a tub that had been peed in but not cleaned, I would be furious. Pee splatters, and the shower water does not hit every spot of the tub. If it rinsed itself fully, I wouldn't be finding drips of bath products (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream) on a routine basis.
I do not want to take a bath in a water-pee mixture. I don't want my kids taking baths in a water-pee mixture. I do not want to have clean up the pee of an adult who is capable of cleaning up after themselves. I also do not want to use a shower that has been peed it and not cleaned. It seems your wife has the same feelings about the matter as I do.
Do you want to wash your hair in the toilet? It also rinses out the pee with water down a drain. If you flush it a few times, it is just as clean as the peed in shower.
Finally, is it really that big of an ask for you to do all of your peeing and pooping in the toilet?
