I think requiring him to have to say every single time they talk is also an overstep. He's been open that they're friends now and keeping contact, so there's an ongoing expectation that they talk to each other, and it leads to situations where if he doesn't mention it, it suddenly feels like he's hiding something when in reality, he's just… talking to a friend. It's a rule that's setting itself up to be broken
