Statistics can vary. Most of what I have researched, still states that condoms when used correctly are still the most effective form of birth control, as well as being unquestionably the best protection against, STDS, yet even though they are still in most cases considered 99.9 or so effective, nothing as of yet is 100%. As another pointed out, I have known more then one case, of someone being on IUD that still getting pregnant. As others pointed out too, more then one measure, IUD + A condom will always be better, then either by themselves.
The only reason I can think of that someone would bring that up on the first date is if they expect you to indulge in their fetish when you hook up. So if you’re not into that then I would say you’re not compatible.

Well yeah, if the end of the relationship was amicable then yeah it's not crazy that'd he still be on good terms with the parents, plus we don't know the history of their relationship. We know they dated for 4+ years but we don't know how long he's known the parents, if he's known them for 10 years of course he'll still be on good terms with them.
