Oh that’s good to know! I don’t really have another point of reference other than what he’s telling me. He used his cousin as an example, as cousins mum stays for 12 months then goes back home for 6 then returns for 12 months. I know that arrangement wouldn’t work for me. I’ve asked him if we can compromise as I think a year is too long and he’s going to think about it but hasn’t given me an answer. I honestly don’t know why it would need to be that long. But it’s very helpful having another point for reference, thank you 🙂
