I'm so sorry, OP, that is one hell of a shock.
I can really only think of one reason why GF's therapist may have advised her not to confess–assuming they actually did. And OP, this is not necessarily a reflection on you personally, so bear that in mind.
Some men react really badly to finding out their girlfriends may have romantic/sexual feelings for other women. Like, the relationship can turn manipulative or downright abusive. And this may be when the woman has voiced that she's beginning to question her sexuality–before the question of an actual physical or emotional affair even enters the equation.
This, however, is just a guess. Only your GF knows what her therapist actually told her, or their reasons for doing so.
You don't say in your post if you knew your girlfriend's sexuality or that she may have been questioning it. I'm going on the assumption that you didn't know, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Obviously, sexuality question aside, your girlfriend did cheat. That all by itself is not okay, and certainly you are not obligated to forgive her or continue the relationship.
I would take some 'me time' if I were you. Maybe seek some therapy of your own (if you haven't already). A fresh perspective may help you sort out your feelings and come to a decision about what you want to do.

Now he’s hurt and even more useless as he recovers. Seeing everything he can’t do, and also knowing his help to you, is done. Having you help him more with recovery as he can’t much but feel frustrated. He’s lashing out with pain and general frustration.

I bought mine a bird feeder and a bird book a long time ago. He really loved it and it has been his favorite hobby for ages now!
