OP, please find yourself a therapist to deal with your past abuse. I know from experience that abuse warps your sense of what's normal. It's really concerning that it's been normalized for you that someone asked for this kind of information at the beginning of dating. This is not normal at all.
The way some people lie about kids to force people who want nothing to do with being a parent is really sick. I hope OP drops any future dudes who lie about kids as well.
