College life is usually pretty different than adult working life. Most people are too tired to be going out multiple times during the week and on the weekend when they’ve worked all week.
People tend to change and grow a lot in their 20’s. You guys are young now and you got together young—I’m not surprised that her political views have changed or that she’s putting more thought into building the life she wants vs the life society pushes on people.

Well… when someone has an emotional attachment to you already, it's harder for them to leave you. So maybe they would be more forgiving. Sort of like how married couples stay in dead bedrooms because they don't want to go through divorce.
To get to my point, I think it's easier for someone to hump and dump you when you aren't already in a committed relationship cause they have other options.
Came here to say something like this. OP sounds enamored of the style and attitude, but let’s not mistake that for substance. These dudes probably don’t like OP because she doesn’t have the right look or ability to take on the cadence of the scene, which in my experience is what’s most important to lots of cool people. I’ve been somewhat a part of some cool scenes and I’m pretty sure a lot of them are petty popularity contests. 30 is old enough to know that that’s a transient and fickle thing to base life decisions on. OP has so much going for her- much more than these guys, no doubt, since it’s quite nude to transform coolness into real world value.
I’ve found great people in all kinds of places, and there are surely some in whatever scene OP is a part of. But I’ve found most cool people to be unreliable, as they’re always ready to move on to the next thing that’ll give them a little more social cache. So I wouldn’t expect much of most of these guys anyway, and I’d worry about being mooched off of if any of these (probably struggling) dudes were.
Like you said you had different upbringings. So it makes sense why he’s so cautious. He doesn’t want to end the relationship or be cut off by his parents. I guess he’d rather have them not know you than know you and resent you for being together. Would you find it ok to stick around until right before marriage to meet the family or is it seeming like a deal breaker?
Thank you for this. I will definitely think about this. I’ve never felt this way about someone else in my entire life. I have such a difficult time deciphering if someone is hitting on me to top it off, since I was extremely poor growing up, so couldn’t afford nice clothes or washing products, I was the girl asked out as a joke or a dare by some guy’s friends, it made my heart grow a little cold towards that sort of affection and made me unsure anyone could ever like me that way, so I never know unless there is extreme bluntness, if I’m desired at all.

There's not one right way to do a relationship or marriage. Your way is strictly monogamous, other people don't subscribe to that. Doesn't matter as long as people are consenting and happy about it
