After that you could mention that you didn't know the neighbour was a cat person and if she has cats of her own. Ask him if she normally comes over to help with the cat. That's assuming you don't know anything about the actual neighbour. But don't ask too much questions at one go so he won't get suspicious. But if you know about the actual neighbour then it might just be best to be straightforward with him and just mention the photo. Say you didn't know the neighbour helps with the cat and ask him how come. If it's a frequent thing then how come you don't know about her and stuff like that. If he's able to get his facts straight without any backtracking, then he's probably telling the truth.
