It's a good question, tbh. There is some personal context to the whole thing because we were casual friends from childhood and his family is aware (and very excited) that the two of us started going out. So there is a piece of me that feels the need to please others and accommodate. I am trying to change this mentality and be more 'selfish' if you will…but my decision to break it off will affect more than just this guy. Does that make sense?
