How are people attending therapy without leaving with actual tools to help them deal with issues & stop negative patterns!? How do people not do some basic free internet issues on coping strategies & healthy conflict resolution? I feel like that’s literally the most obvious basics!?
Well, I used to behave in a similar way at that age. I am almost 60 now. It’s a matter of growing up. I understand you’re desire to be in a relationship, but is that what this is about? Or is it about the person? There are many people you may match with. You’re very young, there is a lot of life ahead of you. What do you want to do with your life? Beyond a relationship? That is what I would focus on if I were you, find your career path, get an education. While you’re doing that you may find someone who has the same interests as yourself, the same dreams, goals, and values. That’s what the foundations of a lifetime of togetherness is based on.

If you think about it, that's probably a trick he learned from his abusive mom. If mom didn't abuse him while dad was in the room, she probably had a similar pattern of waiting until dad was out of the room to hit the kid. Then acting super sweet as soon as dad retuned to the room while saying things like “I have no idea why my poor sweet baby is crying”
It's actually pretty devastatingly sad.
