We've been given no information here that would lead me to conclude that his not responding to her immediately had anything to do with him “retaliating” for a late good morning text response. But her telling him that ” ignoring her (because of the stories I guess) and to have a good day with myself then” and then refusing to respond to him for over 14 hours, not an hour or two, is in fact retaliatory and immature.
If she would prefer he communicate in a more timely or immediate manner then she needs to communicate that, not ignore her partner and essentially punish him for some perceived slight.
Being on your phone does not mean you need to respond to text messages that were sent to you. Sometimes you just don't feel like responding to a text right then and it doesn't mean something sinister.
Sometimes I'm on my phone and my boyfriend texts me and I don't immediately respond and it's not a big deal. Same thing if he doesn't immediately respond to me.
Because neither of us assumes that posting on socials but not responding to a text is somehow a malicious act.
