It may seem that way, but you do have a fair bit of control over your side of this. You did well to block him and mark his emails as spam. But you fell through when you read his emails. I understand, the temptation can be great, but look at what it's doing to your personal resolve. It's not worth it.
I wouldn't advise you to email him again. A) It would confirm to him that indeed you have been reading his emails, which would tell him that his attempts are partially successful, and encourage him to continue. And B) You give away your own power when you make “requests” of him at this point.
As far as you're concerned, he's a random internet creep who's stalking you and trying to force himself into your life. Why would you entertain the communications of that random creep? You wouldn't. So don't.
In fact, I would highly encourage you to trash your current email address and use a new one. Sure, that's a huge pain in the ass if you have it connected of a bunch of websites/contacts. But so what? I'd argue that it's a tiny price to pay for peace of mind.
You're not helpless. Use your ingenuity, creativity and personal resolve to take control of the situation. And make no more requests or appeals to decency of this random internet creep.
And just so you know, if you do change your email, he will probably keep emailing the old email, not knowing you don't use it anymore. So that will placate him for a time, and a year from now, when you haven't said a single word back to him, he will move on. He sounds like a leech. Prove that you're not a good host for him, and he will need a new host or perish.
This is a perfect litmus test. If he’s not into the idea, there’s a bigger problem.
