4. They are quite normal, and I often make “your mom” jokes with my friends as well. However, it is good to let your friends know as well if you personally feel uncomfortable when people make those jokes; real friends should respect those boundaries. I have personally had a few friends draw those boundaries with me because they’re from a different culture and were uncomfortable, and I just stop making those jokes around them.

Depending on her engagement with treatment (is she following thru on exercises, taking meds, going to appointments, etc, whatever else), it’s not that’s she’s unwilling, it’s that her brain won’t let her. She needs to train herself into finding ways that address her very real, if illogical, anxiety, and find ways to manage it to do it anyway.

   If that’s something she wants to do. She may not.

   But idk if she’s unwilling. Mental illness is real
