Your problem is that she’s not the only addict. Your boyfriend is addicted to playing the white knight. He is determined to “save her”. The problem is that she doesn’t want to be saved and his enabling keeps her from hitting rock bottom.
Point out to your bf that before he can save her he has to save himself. He has no idea how to constructively deal with an addict. Look up Al-Anon meetings in your area or have him get into therapy. He needs to get off that merry-go-round of denial. He may accept that his friend has a problem but he won’t accept that she’s the only one that can fix it and not with his interference.
He’s horrible, I hope you can escape. You can’t provide proof of something that doesn’t exist.
Perhaps ask him if he just wants an excuse to leave because everything he’s doing is him creating excuse after excuse. Is he making up things that you’re doing to give him an excuse to leave? His following and messaging girls is far worse than anything you’ve even been close to doing, he’s lost the plot and his brother isn’t helping.
Can you get some immediate support from friends or family? Even just to tell someone – if you were my friend I’d be there like a shot. And just to confirm, speaking to a coworker about work (even outside of work) is not cheating. He knows this. He’s got something else going on.
