I am a very big person, too big to reasonably expect to be picked up by anything short of heavy-duty machinery. But I have a friend who can and does occasionally do it, it makes me so happy and feel so loved. I'm guessing she feels a similar way, please don't ruin that for her.
I have friends who do that. I love to eat it, it makes me feel loved, and I love to see them light up when I tell them how good it is. It's this back and forth of mutual affirmation. It's nice.
Don't let your bf take that away from you or your friends. Especially now when one of them is grieving and needs the food in an entirely practical way. It would isolate you from someone you care about.

You are young so can be forgiven, but life is not a movie and things are a lot more important than the aesthetics. A proposal is asking a question and that is the hole point – whether you did it sky diving, diving with sharks or submerged in a tub full of diamonds doesn't change the question. If it does, than that is your Aesthetics problem not theirs. This idea of a “perfect” wedding or proposal or reveal party or shower really is just silliness supported by the industries that profit off of promoting such things. What would you gain by telling your partner that you didn't like their proposal? Would the “repropose” in a more acceptable way and for that matter if you had such a particular way in which you required your proposal why didn't you propose to them?

I can completely relate to this. My ex talked like this all the time. I came to realize it was a sign of his insecurity, where he needed to be the center of attention. And I found myself sometimes embarrassed about how clueless he was to other people (not just me). I never said anything and just kept quiet, which is not the right thing to do. Or when I couldn’t stand it anymore, I just butt in and interrupt him. Also not the right thing! It’s good you are talking about it. But it might be interesting to ask her how other people see her – don’t make it about you – instead try to understand why she tries to dominate so much. There is probably some need that isn’t being met and that how you learn to understand and support each other. Good luck !
