What the dad is doing to OP sucks really hot, but OP also isn’t really a big part of the dad’s life. She has her own life and her own family (mom + extended) and ultimately she doesn’t NEED her dad. OP will overcome this and will be much better off just cutting her dad out of her life.
But the baby doesn’t get that chance. The baby is eventually going to realize that she was named after a half sibling. She’ll have to grow up knowing that she was the “replacement” and never considered to be her own unique person. That would be so damaging. Especially because the baby wouldn’t have a different family to fall back on like OP does.

Why would you throw away your family to do this? You should have just hung up on this woman and blocked the number. Her irresponsibility and mental health issues are not your issues. This child is as relevant to you as anyone walking down the road.
