To me it seems you are unfortunately not compatible. In my experience (that may not apply to everyone), if you have problems or any doubts about the relationship in the first 6 months, it will not work out even if you try hot and go on with it.
Breakups hurt a lot and there is nothing else to do but just pretty much wait it out. But it will get better. Remember that you learned something about other person and about yourself and your preferences during this adventure. At some point you will meet new people and hopefully someone charming that suits you the best.
What do you do if your brother says something transphobic or otherwise bigoted, especially about your nephew? Do you push back? Or do you stay silent?
